Things to do before you go to Disney World!

Lots of people have been asking for tips and advice for planning a trip to Disney since I’m a born and raised Floridian that spent most of my childhood and early adulthood going to dinsey world. This post will be all about what I think are the best things to do and bring before you go to Disney.

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Get the My Disney Experience app

If you don’t have the app, go get it! you can load all of your reservations, fast passes, and itineraries onto the app and it will keep you posted on ride wait times, show times, when your reservations and fast passes are coming up, and if you can book any new fast passes. It’s a life saver for your trip.

What can you do in the My Disney Experience App? You can ⬇️⬇️⬇️

• Get tickets

• Make dining reservations

• Get a FastPass

• Cancel reservations

• Find something on the map

• See your Memory Maker photos

• Keep track of all your reservations, fast passes and dining reservations

• Mobile order your food

• See what time the bus will show up at your resort

FAST PASSES

Don’t let the crowds scare you away. If you plan ahead and utilize the FastPass+ System and Advanced Dining Reservations, you will have a great time!

The FastPass+ System is available to all park guests and allows you to “skip to the front of the line” at many attractions with a little pre-planning.

DINING PLAN

The Disney Dining Plan is a prepaid meal plan available to guests staying on-site at a Disney World hotel. Your prepayment provides a bank of credits that can be exchanged for meals and snacks during the length of your stay.

There are three different dining plan levels. These plans provide the following meal credits for each person on the hotel reservation per night of your stay:

  • Quick Service Plan – 2 quick service meal credits
  • Disney Dining Plan – 1 quick service meal credit, 1 table service meal credit
  • Deluxe Dining Plan – 3 meal credits (quick service or table service)

Each of these is also separated in price by adult (ages 10 and up) and child (ages 3-9).

Planning ahead and making your dining reservations as soon as you can will help you to enjoy your favorite meals and beat the crowds!

USEFUL THINGS TO BRING ON YOUR DISNEY VACATION

•BACK PACK -Backpack or Fanny Pack? I like to carry a full size backpack. At least one person in your party should carry a backpack. You’ll need the space for some bigger items. But fanny packs are a great choice for everyone else.

DRIED SNACKS – All that walking and waiting makes you hungry so carry dried snacks or trail mix with you to the parks.

BOTTLED WATER – Pop a couple of bottles in the freezer each evening then carry them with you to the parks so you’ll have ice cold water to cool you down when you get thirsty.

HAND SANITIZER– I like to have a supply of hand sanitiser in our bag for this moments when you’re buying a quick snack but there isn’t a bathroom nearby.

Portable charger – I don’t go anywhere without a portable cell phone charger. It has been an absolute lifesaver when I travel, especially at Disney World! The last thing you want is for your phone battery to die in the midst of taking a photo of your loved one standing in front of the Castle or checking wait times for a ride.

Ponchos – Ponchos are one of the things you need for Disney World. When it rains in Florida (and it will!) LOL you’ll have a couple of choices. You can run for the nearest shelter and stay inside until the rain passes which sometimes happens within ten minutes, or you can put on your ponchos and continue on with your day.

I hope you found all my tips helpful. Thanks for stopping by.
