Cutting Fabric letters With Your Cricut

Is anyone asking for a new Cricut Maker for Christmas? I am so excited to share my new Ah-Maz-ing toy!!! The new rotary cutter is so powerful! This little thing is amazingly precise and can rotate, go back and forth, pickup and pivot all thanks to the Adaptive Tool System.

It is so cool to watch it at work!

Today I’m excited to tell you all about my new Cricut Maker and share the personalized pillows I made for my grand-loves for Christmas!!

Here are some things you will need for this project.

•Pillowcover

Cricut maker machine

•Rotary blade

Cricut fabric mat

•1/2 yard of fabric

•fabric glue stick

•measuring tape

• scissors

1. In Design Space add text and type your name.

2. Size the image in Design Space according to your pillow size (mine was sized 15″ x 8”

3. Place the fabric on the pink fabric Cricut cutting mat and choose your material type.

4. Choose the “rotary” blade on your Cricut Maker Machine.

Now that you have your fabric and your ready to cut, what mat should you use when learning how to cut fabric with a Cricut? Hands down the best mat is the pink fabric grip mat. This has the best adhesion for fabric as well as controlling the fray when removing your fabric from the mat. You can get it in both sizes 12×12 and 12×24

FINAL STEP:

Now that you have your letters cut out, use a fabric glue stick to attach letters to the pillowcover. Let it dry. You can stop here if you don’t have a sewing machine and be finished but I really like seeing the sewn edges in a zig zag pattern, so I ended up sewing the letters onto the pillowcase. If you don’t have a sewing machine use a stronger fabric glue like Aleene’s tacky glue.

And there you have it, it’s done! I just love how it turned out!!
