OUR LAUNDRY ROOM MAKEOVER
I’m so excited to share our laundry room makeover reveal. Well, more like a big facelift!
The first thing we did was remove the pedestals off the washer and dryer. It was more important for me to have a folding area instead of storage drawers. It was a constant battle loosing everything I sat on top of the washer and dryer. Rattling off into the bottomless black holes on the side and behind them. You can’t imagine all the things we found back there!! Hehehe!!
Once those were off we began to level the washer and dryer, which was a task in itself.
Now for the fun part!
My DIYer husband framed out the washer and dryer with premium wood for a more custom look. And for the top we purchased a beautiful piece of 60 x30 butcher block from Floor and Decor.
The two upper cabinets were purchased from Habitat for Humanity when we first moved into our house two years ago. 34 dollars a piece and brand new in a box was a great deal! I’m not crazy about the color so I’ll be painting them bright white.
Cindy @acottagegirl shared a blog post on how she painted her cabinets. Benjamin Moore Advance paint is what she used. She swears by this paint and has transformed many kitchens. I feel super confident after seeing the four kitchens she’s completed.
After two coats of primer these babies were ready for paint.
The paint went on like butter. I’m so impressed with BM advance self leveling paint. I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out.
I used glidden whitecleff beige eggshell paint for the walls and installed tile along the entire back wall. I went with Home Depot’s 2×4 white subway tile. A perfect scale for this size room. There’s a reason why this tile has been around since 1900’s, it’s timeless and it’s awesome. I’m so happy we did the entire wall as it created such a statement in this space. Oyster grey unsanded is what we used to grout the tile.
So this is my new modern farmhouse laundry room.
I can’t tell you how happy I am with how it all turned out. I could not have done it without my amazing husband that goes along with all my crazy remodeling ideas. Thanks babe!
This is what this space looked like before we purchased the house. This laundry room went from drab to fab!
Absolutely stunning! Can’t wait to try the pain on my kitchen!!
Thank you so much my friend !!! 😄
