PROJECT CARLOS & DEBBIE

Hi everyone!

I’m so excited to share my clients reveal . Carlos and Debbie asked me to design their home and I have to say it has been such an incredible and fun experience to work with such amazing people.

My clients needed a space that reflected both of their personalities. That was the challenging part! Debbie’s description of what she wanted was light colors, clean lines with a touch of farmhouse and glam. A lived in feel, a place where friends and family can come and kick off their shoes and just relax. Carlos on the other hand wanted a more modern space with black leather, white walls and groupings of matching furniture pieces. I’m sure your wondering how I brought these two styles together. Well, let me show you…

We agreed on a color palette with light and dark greys, white, off white and pops of navy. All the doors, baseboards and kitchen cabinets were painted a light grey and the walls were painted origami white by Sherwin Williams.

We started out by purchasing the Ferlov white slipcovered couch and ottoman from ikea. It added such a clean and airy feel in this space while this louli rug anchors the room with a dark grey and an off white color. We found this beauty at Marshalls and couldn’t pass it up with a clearance price of $150 dollars.

I brought in many different materials including grey toned woods, marble, chrome, velvet and faux fur to provide visual interest and contrast.

All this truly scared Carlos. He couldn’t understand why everything didn’t match. Why the nightstands didn’t match the bed.

While I used many beautiful pieces that are noteworthy in the living room, the splurge piece was a large piece of art by Jennifer Meyers from Pottery Barn. Click here She describes this piece as a profile of a dark horse against a white sky plays on geometry, light and dark bringing forth a dream-like tranquility.

This was definitely the winning piece is this design. I picked a horse print that looked just like their family horse. Wow did I get lucky there!!!

At this point Debbie was really starting to get excited and Carlos just wasn’t sure. I just kept reassuring him he would love it when I was done. I think it’s safe to say Carlos and Debbie were very happy with the outcome of their new home. They are both so excited to get home everyday to their cozy retreat.

So that’s project Carlos and Debbie – it’s a wrap!!!

Hope you enjoyed this tour! It’s always an exciting moment sharing your own work. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
